Thank you for visiting the Showcase of Faculty Accomplishments system. We have tried to make the site easy to use and included instructions as often as possible where needed. Our Goals

With the Showcase, we are fulfilling two primary needs:

NCATE Accreditation

We aim to fulfill our data collection requirements to demonstrate how we satisfy NCATE standard 5: Faculty Qualifications, Performance, and Development's substandards:

  • 5a: Qualified Faculty
  • 5b: Modeling Best Professional Practices in Teaching
  • 5c: Modeling Best Professional Practices in Scholarship
  • 5d: Modeling Best Professional Practices in Service

Annual Report

In the past, Administrative Services has had various methods for faculty members to submit their scholarly and service activities for inclusion in the College of Education Annual Report. To streamline the process for faculty members to submit their activities, faculty members can now add an activity to the Showcase and check a box to submit the activity.

When using the system, you may wish to have your vitae and your most recent activity report available.

Instructions

  1. Login to the system using your university username and password.
  2. Click on the "My Activities" link on the menu bar.
  3. The first time you visit the site, you will be asked to answer a short questionnaire. Please answer the questions and then click 'Save and Continue.'
  4. You will now view a screen which has some information about you in the header. Review the information presented in the header. If this is incorrect, please email Jeffrey Rollins at rollinsj@gvsu.edu with what needs to be changed. We will use your updates to make the faculty database more accurate.
  5. Below the header, there are three categories: Service, Publications, and Presentations. At the bottom of each section is a link to add more. Click the link in the section you would like to add activities in. Each section has slightly different instructions; Please refer to those instructions for the section you select.
    • Service — The category of Service encompases a wide range of the activities faculty members take part in. The different beneficiaries of Service we are collecting information on:
      • Community
      • P-12 Schools
      • Professional Organizations
      • College of Education
      • Grand Valley State University
    • Presentations
    • Publications
  6. Continue to add new items until you are done. Once you are done, please click 'log off' in the top right corner.
  7. Please come back at least once a year to update the activities. A good time to do this is when you are also submitting your Activity Report. You may also update the list each time you have a new item to add.
